REPORT ON A RENOVATION ORGANISED BY EARTH VOLUNTEERS AT SOCIAL WELFARE – MADINA IN THE NATIONAL DAY CARE SCHOOL.
A four (4) member team of earth volunteers organized a day renovation work camp at Social Welfare Day Care School. The school had lack of efficient power, mosquito nets and bulbs.
The renovation took place in the National Day Care School in Social Welfare. Due to the old age of the school, things like bulbs and mosquito nets have not been efficiently used. This caused sickness among the children in the school.
Challenged by the aim of eradicating malaria among the children, we decided to provide them with mosquito nets.
Work started at 9:00 am, we took an hour snack break and continued till 5:30 pm during school hours.
Teachers of the school joined us to renovate the school and they worked perfectly.
- It prevented the breakout of malaria among the children.
- The amount of mosquitoes and flues were reduced to prevent disturbance during teaching sessions, thus the pupils and the teachers.
Work was successful and participants who worked perfectly were excited that the children had a conducive environment for learning.
